Firstly let me wish you all a belated Happy New Year

This traditionally is the time to look back and review last year’s events so, not one to go against tradition, here is my review...

2010 was yet another busy year, with appearances in Dorset, Devon and Cornwall in one direction, Norfolk and Suffolk in the other. Then there was The Isle of Arran, Scotland and Bilbao, Spain. Plus of course lots in South East England. Funnily enough in December I had a gig in Dover, the venue was less than a mile from my house, unfortunately I didn’t make it. Why? As often happens here in winter, a few inches of snow fall, and everybody is snowed in. The hills became like the Cresta Run, but without the toboggans. The town became grid locked. Hey ho, just one gig missed in the whole year was good, but being so close meant that I was, indoors at home, warm and snug. What a bonus.

In addition to my solo events, I’ve also had great fun performing in three bands, The Bottles, Quidnunc and The Ramblin’ Boys. These have all been great fun, but, unfortunately, due to solo commitments, these appearances are becoming fewer and fewer.

Back in August, my new CD ‘Lanes..’ was released. It was well received and, I’m delighted to say, it is selling very well.

So what will 2011 bring? Lots more gigs and festivals, and even more fun. I do hope to see friends, both old and new, somewhere during this year.

All the very best for 2011

Stu
