The Curly Haired Folker From Dover

Wandering Man

Ive travelled the world for manys the round
Shared friendship in places Ive found
Told many stories heard many yarns
Ive loved and I've lost but its done me no harm

[Im a] wandering man who just like to roam
Only a drifter a long way from home
May I share in your company just for a while?
In return for a glass...
Friendly smile and a song

My shoes have worn thin as Ive walked down the road
Counting the shadows to lighten my load
Farewells have been many and they still make me cry
But maybe Ill see you again, by and by

Chorus

They tell you that there is no place like home
Where ever you ramble wherever you roam
When you have many its hard to know
The right time to leave and to which one to go

Chorus

Now thanks for your company thanks for the smiles
The moments we shared now may last a while
And if in the future I return again
I hope in friendship together well sing

Chorus
